Responsibilities:
 Design and develop flow battery components, e.g. sealings, pressurized housings and internal cell components
 Support stack testing to ensure that the stack components achieve the required performance, cost and durability
 Operation of test stations for flow battery stacks
o Design of experiments and test protocols
o Writing test reports
o Troubleshooting
 Preparing and reviewing of technical drawings
 Negotiate with (key) suppliers on design, requirements, manufacturability and cost
Requirements:
 Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or higher
 At minimum 5 years working experience
 Expertise in resolving technical challenges
◦ Proven creativity in resolving design problems
◦ Knowledgeable in engineering polymers and elastomers
 Experience in Autodesk or similar CAD software
 Excellent analytical and data analysis skills
 Knowledge of production processes and quality control
 Knowledge or experience which is an asset:
◦ Flow battery, electrolyser or fuel cell technology
◦ Injection moulding, transfer moulding, mould design
◦ Mechanical prototyping skills with tools such as:
▪ CNC machining
▪ Laser cutting
▪ 3D printing
◦ Problem solving tools: RCA, FMEA, TRIZ
◦ Simulation software: FEA, CFD
◦ Basic project management expertise
◦ International experience
 Strong communication skills with scientists/engineers of various disciplines.
 Ability to keep working in a safe and structured way while under pressure to meet deadlines
 An entrepreneurial mindset
 Fluency in English
