The project-engineering department is in charge of engineering and construction of investments and modifications. It concerns mainly improvements and extensions of existing process units. Some parts of the detailed engineering is executed in-house, however, most of the engineering work is subcontracted to engineering companies. The mechanical project engineer will be responsible for civil, steel-structure, piping, and mechanical engineering of small and medium sized projects and mechanical work. The mechanical project engineer has a double role in a project. 1. Mechanical engineer in charge of all the project related technical details in the field of piping, equipment, civil. 2. Project leader in charge of the project management: cost, planning, coordination, reporting, managing sub contractors etc. Scope of work: - Basic & detailed engineering for project of which engineering is done in-house (mechanical, piping and civil part) - Completion of PFDs and P&IDs with assistance of Process Engineering and Operations department - Review of engineering documents in co-ordination with all parties involved at ZR - Creation and/or review of technical specifications for procurement of equipment (columns, pumps, vessels, heaters, heat exchangers etc.) - Bid evaluation (technical part) - Writing of basic design reports, design basis etc. - Check the quality and completeness of project studies, technical specifications, drawings, project documents etc. - Participation in safety studies (HAZOPs) - Estimation of civil and mechanical (piping & equipment) works - Scope definition of detailed engineering - Subcontracting of construction works in co-ordination with the field supervisor Tasks as project leader: - Responsible as project leader for a project from basic study until financial close-out - Budget, cost control, planning and progress follow up - Coordination and supervision of engineering studies for projects.
